We have a spacious rosette award winning restaurant. All out food is home made and freshly cooked to order using only the finest local produce. Below you will find some pictures of the restaurant together with a sample menu and wine list.

The restaurant is open Tuesday - Saturday only, however, light meals can be provided for guests on Sunday and Monday evening. The restaurant is open to non-residents on Friday and Saturday evening only and booking is essential.

A Mousse of Salmon and Prawns with a Lemon & Lime Vinaigrette
Roast Beef Tomatoes with Olives, Parma Ham & a Balsamic Dressing
A Terrine of Pork, Chicken & Duck with Dressed Salad Leaves

 

Main Courses:

Rack of Lamb on a Bed of Spinach with Lemon, Garlic, Cream and a Mint Jus
Fillet of Beef with Cherry Tomatoes on a Horseradish and Mustard Cream Sauce
Brixham Cod on a Bed of Celeriac Mash with Olives & Capers (Optional) and Thyme Scented Olive Oil

 

Desserts:

Iced Chocolate Terrine served with a Coffee and Brandy Sauce
Somerset Cherry Frangipane Tart served warm with Amaretto Ice Cream
Warm Bakewell Pudding (Made to an original Derbyshire Recipe) Served with a Creme Anglais and local Raspberries

 Style:Dry. An intense nose, fruity palate with a touch of oak and a strong finish. A light red in the beaujolais style

 Style:Dry. A good clean nose, delicate palate and a lingering finish. Excellent with fish

 Style:Full of fruit with apple & apricot flavours. Well balanced with a sustained mousse. 
Oakford Wines are produced by Peter Rostron at the Oakford Vineyard near Dulverton in the beautiful Exe Valley. It is situated on a sheltered south facing slope with 4 acres of vines.

The wines are made from a blend of traditional English varieties. Harvested in late October, the grapes are destalked, crushed and macerated for a few days before gentle pressing in a basket press.

Fermenting for three weeks, the must is then rested over the winter while it clears. Bottling is then carried out in May. All the wines are classified by the European Union as 'English Table Wine'.
